Public-facing activity connected to dignity, fairness, cultural understanding, and civil rights, dialogue and public accountability.

Much of Dhanji’s human-rights and humanitarian work has been undertaken through various not-for-profit organizations that he founded or co-founded. His efforts have combined community mediation, legal representation, refugee protection, and public education.

Community Mediation

In Pompano Beach, Florida, he helped resolve community conflicts involving competing interests within the African American Christian and Muslim communities, encouraging dialogue, mutual understanding, and peaceful resolution.

Asylum & International Protection

Between 2015 and 2016, Dhanji represented individuals from Belarus seeking asylum and international protection, ultimately the client secured protection from a United Nations Court (Geneva) decision. In Lithuania, during the European refugee and migration crisis, (2017 – 2018) he worked to safeguard the fundamental rights and humane treatment of refugees arriving after displacement and dangerous Mediterranean crossings.

Public Education

He has also delivered seminars and public talks addressing urgent human-rights concerns, including the use of child soldiers, underage and forced marriage, refugee protection, and the fundamental need for access to safe drinking water in developing regions.
